In Balance

We still need everything that the formal world gave us: it’s just that to be successful, we also need to adopt and inhabit the Social too. Why? Because our ecosystem has evolved, because what we know is now less important than our ability to find things out, to make sense of them, within our communities, to share wise stories, hear the unheard wisdom and build a reputation for fairness and effectiveness.

Ecosystem of the Social Age 2015

A map of the Social Age

My mind is turning to January when i put my cartographers hat back on: i’ll redraw the map of the Social Age, as well as the map of Learning Technology. Why? Because it’s a time of constant change, and we have to update our maps accordingly, not to show how much we know, but to be clear how much we still have to figure out.

It’s a reflective time and i’m looking forward to it: a time to think new thoughts, update old ones and write a new story for a new year.
