It used to a simple thing, to answer the question ‘what do you do‘, but today, as the realities of the Social Age bite, it becomes ever harder, ever more subjective. Are you defined by the job you earn the most money from, or the things you do that have the greatest impact, or that you enjoy the most? Is ‘what you do‘ defined formally by a job description, or socially, by what people know you for? With the democratisation of creativity and technology, many people now explore multiple aspects of their interests and desires throughout their lives, not just in their teenage years as they figure out ‘what to do‘ with their lives.
Today, we figure out ‘what to do‘ as we live our lives, making many stops and detours along the way.
